I recently did a job where I power washed vinyl siding and after I did that it was chalky. I didn't use any chemicals only powerwasher on a 45 degree angle nozzle approx 12 in away. Is this normal or did I do something wrong?
What solution do you guys suggest that can get rid of the black marks and not make the siding look chalky?
Thanks for your help! P.M.s welcome |

Most likely the chalky film on the siding was there prior to you washing it. It's caused from the sun which has oxidized the siding. The only way to get rid of it is to use chemicals and/or brush the siding with a soft brush as you wash it.
The Vinyl Siding Institute (VSI) recommends using a mix of bleach and soap to clean vinyl siding (see details). Water and pressure alone won't clean it properly. |
