This might be a dumb question but I'm assuming that waterproofing a deck is the same as sealing it or refinishing it, right?
And does the pressure treated kind of wood need to be waterproofed or is it already because of the treating?
Thanks,
Mike |

Mike, yes the waterproofing of a deck is also known as sealing or finishing it. In the industry we use all these terms and even "staining" but it all means the same thing.
Pressure treated lumber does need to be sealed with a deck sealer to protect against sun and water damage. The chemical treatment in pressure treated lumber is only to deter bugs and insects from eating the wood. |
