There are some biocides and sealers on the market that claim to keep the algae away for good, but their test results are very limited. Once algae is killed and removed properly from your roof it's hard to say how long it would stay algae free at that point because it's an airborne algae. If and when the algae does land on your roof again it takes some time to develop into those nasty black streaks again, but eventually it would.
The best thing to do after investing in a professional roof cleaning, is to sign up on the cleaning company’s maintenance plan. For a fraction of the original cost, they will come out every year or two and give your roof a maintenance coat of the algae killing cleaner, so the algae doesn’t return. |
