Some contaminants that can collect on your home’s exterior are spider webs, bug fecal matter and bird droppings. Some homes are more prone to these impurities than others. We all know what spider webs and bird droppings look like but what about bug poop?
I see this quite often mostly on vinyl or wood sided homes around the porch lights. The best way to describe what it looks like is to compare it to the front of your car after driving down a country road on a warm summer night. Yes, it looks like bug guts and splatter almost like your house went for a drive hitting every bug insight.
This matter can be hard to get off without the proper cleaners, don't try to do it with extreme pressure from a pressure washer because the results still won't be satisfactory and you could easily damage your siding. Pulling every cleaning bottle out from under the sink isn't a good idea either as they could also damage or discolor the siding.
Try using some dish soap, hot water, and a little elbow grease using a soft cloth or sponge. Do not use anything abrasive that might scratch the surface. A quality cleaning company can also be the solution to the problem, after getting your home cleaned have the bug exterminator spray around the house. This will help to keep the bug poop and spider webs to a minimum. |

| We had this all over the front porch of our home. I originally thought it was that gun fungus you speak of in another post but the description didn't match what I was looking at having cleaned. Someone said it was spider poop so I searched and found this post. Good information here, because we couldn't figure out what it was, thanks. We were able to clean it up around the porch with some effort but we are hiring a pro to get the higher areas. |

I just had a visual of my house taking my car and going for a drive, I lost a mouthful of coke.
I just use hot water on it, or I just take the pressure cleaner to it if I feel like it. Cleaning up bug scat is hardly a difficult task.
You know, now that I think about it, I wonder what in the Hell that wierd brown gunk on my ceiling is, it seriously doesn't come off. |

| A lot of stuff can be taken care of with some patience and elbow grease. If you take the time to take care of your house, which is the largest investment you'll ever make, it'll last a really long time. |

| We get some of that around our porch and deck lights. I usually clean it off with a sponge, using warm water and soap. It takes some rubbing, but it does the job, without damaging the siding. |
