Would a consumer pressure washer provide too much pressure to wash a car? I've seen people use it to clean hubcaps but what about the rest of the car?

In inexperienced hands you could rip off decals at that amount of pressure. But we use 2500 psi all the time on cars and trucks. As long as you don't get too close and you're careful, then it's fine. .

A mechanic told me once that if I go to the manual car wash to always get the underside ridges with the powerwash hose. You have to remove the dirt and grime that pack up there and will cause body rust, but avoid washing the engine and the tires where the brakes are. If you have any shorts your car will go wonky from the water
