Thanks,

H&R Concrete Sealer carried at Sherwin Williams is good. Or V-Seal is an excellent product at vseal.com
Main thing is to have the concrete cleaned and prepped correctly so the sealer can penetrate and/or adhere better. Most driveways are rough in texture but a smooth finish concrete like on a front porch or something would have to be acid etched after it was cleaned. |

I am also interested in putting a sealer on my concrete driveway. What would the best way to clean the concrete? Would water do the trick or do you need to use any chemicals?

Any type of concrete cleaner would be better than just plain water, even soapy water would to the trick. After cleaning it may be necessary to etch the concrete if it is somewhat smooth. This is necessary for the concrete sealer to adhere better. The etching is done with muriatic acid. Follow the directions and recommendations on the label of the concrete sealer.

Thank you about the etching comment as I did not realize that was also required. This muriatic acid you refer to is it a very dangerous substance to work with?

It can be yes. You must be careful with it, be sure to read the directions and always wear safety glasses, a respirator, and chemical resistant gloves.

Thats sounds pretty dangerous and I am not sure that I would want to do that by myself. I would rather have a professional take care of that.

Is concrete sealer like other sealers where you have to consider the humidity in the dry time? I want to do my garage floor before winter and it has been so rainy

After cleaning and etching you should let it dry for several days. It may appear dry within a few hours but it will still hold moisture for several days. If you seal it too soon and trap moisture the sealer will begin to come up, peel, and or flake before long.
