| hi barry, would you say that this "apple sauce" recipe works as well as your bleach/tsp method? i have been using bleach and tsp with great results but im curious if maybe you or your readers have experienced such "home made" roof cleaner |

I've never experimented or messed with what has worked or with what the shingle manufacturers recommend using. Bleach, water, tsp works well and it's safe on the shingles.
I've read of others adding alcohol and other additives to the mix but I have to ask why when bleach and water works great.
I know you can use a little dish soap instead of tsp and it also works well. It is mainly to help the bleach cling to the shingles longer so it kills the algae more effectively. |

Roof cleaner mixes can vary depending on the job, area, and who you ask. But the bottom line for me is I just stick with what the shingle manufacturers recommend using which is bleach and water mixed 50/50.
I PMed you with more specifics. |
