For oil stains on driveways caused from an oil leak from a vehicle try using some Purple Power or other type of degreaser. Dilute it a little at first and mix it stronger if needed. Pour the cleaner on the oil stain and let it dwell for a few minutes then use a pressure washer and a wide fan nozzle to clean it. A cold water unit is fine but hot water would help if you have it. With most oil stains there will always be a shadow left behind from the stain no matter what you use to clean it. The sooner you can clean the stain the better, with fresh oil stains only a day or two old, you may get away with just a high pressure water cleaning and no chemicals.
The only other concern when removing a stain without cleaning the entire surface is causing a clean spot where the stain was, so use your own judgement when tackling isolated stains. Read this for tips on larger surface cement cleaning. |
