Power washing or pressure washing services are widely accepted and are popular among home owners today. Pressure washing services for home owners include whole house washing, concrete cleaning, deck maintenance, wood home restoration and low pressure roof cleaning to name a few. Other services can include heavy equipment washing, truck fleet washing, car washing and detailing, building washing, paint prepping and other commercial and industrial services. Pressure washing has become so popular that many companies have become more specialized in a few of the services available, which is good news for the home owner. It’s always better to find a specialist in a service of interest as opposed to a jack of all trades type of company. Pressure washing is a proven way to increase your homes curb appeal which has been documented by the president of the National Association of Real Estate Appraisers to increase the value of your home anywhere from 5%-10%. For the cost, no other home improvement project can compare to professional power washing services.

Barry, that is so true. A couple of years back when it was a seller's
market, my calls from Realtor's were few and far between.
Now that is has become a buyer's market, the number of calls have
jumped by leaps and bounds.
When someone gets out there car to look at a home, what's one of
first things they notice? Curb appeal.

I'm anxious to see what the realtors have to say when I attend the BNI meeting on Thursday.

Don-

I believe you will do well pitching your pressure washing services. I've talked to you about this so I know your intentions are good. You have stated you want to educate the Realtors so they can educate the home owner so ultimately you get a chance to help them.

It's all about educating and helping people.

Good luck!

Hey guys, I base my pricing by the square foot and want to know my rates are comparable to the industry. I charge 5 cents (per sq ft) for durable flat surfaces (like concrete for which I can use a deck scrubber), 10 cents (psf) for upstanding surfaces (1 story), and 2 cents for regular chemical application on top of the pressure wash (chlorine and jomax mix). Most would go for the chemical application on top of the pressure wash. You guys think these rates are good?

Also, I've heard opinion that flat rates aren't the best due to the fact that differing conditions of each job environment call for a higher or lower pricing estimation. Based on your experiences, what have you guys found to be the most reliable method? Flat rates? Rates with room for adjustments? By the hour? Your thoughts?

I always figure by the square foot or by the linear foot on house washes. Your prices seem to be within the average range. I do not price jobs per hour. I do factor in hours but that is just for the sake of me knowing where I stand.

The closest I come to flat rate prices is by having minimum pricing in place for each of our services. If a job falls under our minimum price then I suppose technically that would be a flat rate. Other than that we measure everything up and apply our sq footage pricing.
