If you are considering getting into the power washing business you may find this list to be helpful. It is a list of the very basic bare essentials you will need to start a professional exterior cleaning company. By no means does the list suggest this is ALL you need to get started but it may help in your venture. Good luck!
Power washer (preferably a belt driven unit at least 4gpm or more)
Chemical tank and/or float tank
Pressure hoses (200' to be safe)
Feed hose
Hose reels
Ladders
Trailer (open or enclosed)
Truck or Van (1/2 ton will work but bigger is better)
Title fees/plates
Gas can(s)
Personal protection equipment (respirator, safety glasses, gloves)
Proper chemicals (house washing, roof cleaning, deck cleaning chems)
Surface cleaner (to clean concrete)
Business phone line
Business cards
Office supplies
Business forms (proposals/invoices)
Vehicle lettering
Logo design
yard signs
Advertising money (mailers, mailing lists, paper ads)
Business bank account
Assumed business name certificate
Register with your State
Corporation Fees
Licensing
Estimated tax payments
General liability/workman's comp/commercial auto insurance
It's a good idea to have all your personal finances in check before starting any business venture. Also you should have some petty cash in the business account for the lean times or for any unforeseen obstacles. |

| Thank you for that list. Would you by any chance have a rough estimate how much it would cost to purchase all the items on that list so that a person could start up a company like this? |

Unfortunately my list and prices are outdated as I have been in business for a number of years, I do know however that I got started with the right equipment and the proper insurance for just under $5,000 but that was a few years ago.
I have tossed around the idea of putting together an e-book for starting up a pressure washing business. Like the ins and outs, buying the proper equipment, advertising out of the gate, and all the necessities to get going in the right direction.
I researched for months before diving in and I know now that there was so much I did not know then, it would be nice to pass along the information and experience that I have now to help others that are getting started. |

Slow. I'm too meticulous and detailed when I write. But maybe a cleaning tips blog like this one I found. |
