I love the look of painted concrete for a floor or even for a patio, but I'm not really sure where to start....I don't want it to look like I took a paint roller to the floor to cover up something. Any suggestions on what products to use, should I be tinting the actual concrete or painting it after the fact?

I would use a colored concrete sealer. Your local Sherwin Williams or paint store can suggest a good concrete sealer.

One thing that I've noticed with a painted concrete deck is that it can become slippery when wet. Is there a type of paint that will provide some texture to prevent people from slipping?

At the time of sealing it you can apply some texture which is like gritty sand.

I would like to repaint the concrete blocks in my basement and have read that certain types of paint should be used, do you have a suggestion or on whether masonary paint that penetrates is really needed or is it just hype for sales?

Thank you for all the tips! I was wondering however what type of texture can best be used? What should I ask the shopkeeper for? Thank you in advance! |
