My sister has a power washer but she told me that the water just trickles out? She claims it never worked right since she got it and she gets a better pressure from her garden hose. I was thinking maybe she managed to get something clogged, is there a way to check?

I would just tear it apart and see if you can find anything blocking it, nothing to lose really since it does not work anyway. The pump may be shot too which isn't worth replacing because you could just buy a new unit for the price of the pump replacement. Did she let the unit sit outside in freezing temps? This is a common mistake by homeowners.

She said that it was like that since she bought it. I think she used it only once, but it is possible that she got it from a lawn center that could have left it in an area that was to cold. So if I understand what your saying you shouldn't leave them in a unheated garage, especially in the northern climates?

That's correct. A little water can freeze and crack the pump internally.
