When I had my driveway replaced the contractor put it in during late october (I am in a northern climate) I asked about sealers and they told me that was not needed since this concrete was mixed with acrylic, I have never heard of that I can find no reference to that type of product. Did they lie to me? should I still get a sealer?

I've never heard of such concrete that would not benefit from being sealed. But if that is what the concrete contractor told you then it is on him. I'd keep researching it until I found out for sure though just to be sure.
